Growing up in a single-parent home, I thought I'd found a savior in my stepdad, only to discover a nightmare. At 12, I turned to substances to escape the pain, spiraling into a life of crime and addiction.

I ended up in juvenile hall, learning the hard way that my choices had consequences. Each moment felt like a step further from the light, until I found myself in prison at just 18.

But even behind bars, I discovered a sense of belonging that I had longed for. Yet, it came with a price.

My journey was filled with ups and downs. It’s not just about falling down; it’s about rising again, learning, and finding hope.

Growing up, I faced loss early on. I lost my dad to addiction, and it left a massive mark on my life. My mom did her best to hold our family together, but the trauma didn’t just vanish—it lingered.

We all process grief differently. For me, it created a wall around my heart. I learned not to get attached because everything I loved seemed to slip away. But it also taught me resilience.

As I grew, I realized trauma was less about the event and more about how we choose to deal with it. It’s not a short-term battle. It shapes our choices and our lives in profound ways.

Still figuring this out myself. Maybe that’s the real lesson.

Homero Anguiano shares his story of early life. While he was raised in a large wholesome Mexican family, he started to stray from the correct path. Soon he was involved in the drug game and then started to use, which eventually landed him in prison.

Thanks to a supportive family, and a loving woman who stuck with him thru thick and thin, Homero was able to redesign his life and start anew.

His story highlights that you dont have to be from the streets, to find yourself in them. But more importantly, his story shows the viewer that decisions determine destiny. How you start doesn't have to be how you finish, and the success he has accomplished, and the family he and his wife have created, are all blessings that resulted from his hard work and positive choices!

Mr Taurus explains what it's like to spend 17 years in prison and the lessons that he learned while he was in there. He also expounds on his turning point and how he changed his life from being a gang member, to a changed man. This episode has so much truth and is really worth a watch!
