This is is an interview with Kevin Keil. Kevin Keil brings over 40 years of musical experience to his love of sacred music. Kevin Keil is a prolific composer of instrumental and vocal pieces. Kevin Keil has been composing nearly as long as he has been involved in church music, and finds much of his inspiration growing out of the needs of his church music programs. He believes in taking the very best of our musical heritage and blending it with a contemporary style that makes the music new again.

Kevin Keil received a bachelor’s degree in music from Cleveland State University and a master’s in church music and liturgy from St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana. Before moving to Texas, Kevin Keil was an organist, pianist, guitarist, cantor and music director in Cleveland area Catholic churches for 30 years. He has been director of music and liturgy at Holy Cross Catholic Church in The Colony, Texas, since August 2009.

Psalms for the Soul by Rawn Harbor - Liturgist  and Composer.  This show is an one on one conversation about the experience of the African American Catholic Liturgy, Liturgical Music for the Catholic Liturgy, Psalms fof the Soul and Holy Week. Rawn Harbor is one of the preeminent African American Catholic liturgists and musicians in the U.S. today. A gifted pianist and composer, he is also a much sought-after workshop facilitator, speaker and liturgist. He serves as an adjunct faculty member and director of liturgy and music at the Franciscan School of Theology in Berkeley, and adjunct faculty and director of the gospel choir at the University of San Francisco. For more than five years, he has taught and served as coordinator of liturgy for the Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University in New Orleans. He is also an adjunct instructor in pastoral ministry for the leadership track at the institute. Since 1974, Rawn has traveled the country as a liturgist, musician and lecturer.

Rawn was a member of the music selection team that, under the leadership of the late Bishop James P. Lyke, OFM, created Lead Me, Guide Me, an African American Catholic hymnal. In 2004 the National Association of Pastoral Musicians (NPM) named Harbor pastoral musician of the year.
