We don’t know exactly what songs the earliest Christians sang. Or how long their gatherings lasted. Or what prayers they specifically prayed. But we do know what they talked about the most, the power behind their history-changing movement.

What if you don’t accomplish your biggest goals in life? What if you never make it to the place you were planning on? What might God be doing on the journey while your eyes were fixed on the finish line?

Life turns out to be harder than any of us imagine. The challenges of the future can fill us with anxiety and paralyze us with fear. But there is a force strong enough to keep us moving forward. There is a sacred vision that removes fear and gives us hope. Have you seen it?

It is sobering to see how quickly sin can happen after church. Days, hours, even minutes after worship, we can give in to the shiny temptations of life. Where do we find forgiveness for such failures? Where do we find the power to worship God alone?

God never intended us to do life alone. Not even Moses could bear the burden of life without the strength and wisdom of others. Who is holding you up during the pressures of life? Who is working out God’s plans at your side?

At times in life, you feel stuck. There is nowhere to turn. No simple solution. In those moments, you need the Almighty God, the Father who does wonders, the Savior who parts the seas for his people.

People with power don’t give up control easily. Thus injustice and oppression continue, leaving victims in their wake. But our God cares about injustice. He hears the cry of his suffering people. And he has a divine plan to set us free, to let his people go.
