On this episode I have the crazy talented and super nice, Jared Sims! Jared is a multi-instrumentalist with focus on all of the saxophones and some clarinet and flute too! I mean, you can see him playing other instruments on his Instagram too, but it’s all about the focus folks! In addition to being a talented dude, he’s got many amazing albums out there to hear! On this episode I welcome my good friend, Julian Calv! This episode has been in the works for a while, and now it's here! Julian is a New England based multi-instrumentalist and composer and music theorist that has educated youth through music, and used music as an avenue for community outreach (including performing in prisons with his band, Non Prophets). Heavily inspired by the musician, Moondog (Louis T. Hardin), Julian has been been on a journey of life and music. In fact, part of that very journey will see the release of his debut album, Nonstop Motion on Deko Records on November 9, 2024! In part a tribute to Moondog, in part a documentation of where the journey has taken him so far! Let's give a warm welcome to Julian! A good friend of mine, and now friend of The Corner!

Hey y'all! Welcome to episode 50! That's right! It's the 50th episode! It's a good one too! On this episode I'm joined by Dessa! What else can I say other than I'm incredibly grateful for 50 episodes and for Dessa's appearance!? Well, let me start by telling you a little about my guest. Dessa was born Margret Wander in Minneapolis, Minnesota and had her come up as a creative with the indie hip hop collective, Doomtree. Since then, in addition to work within Doomtree, she has gone on to release five solo albums, a handful of EPs, a number of singles, and a concert recording with the Minnesota Orchestra (Sound The Bells). An accomplished writer and speaker, she has been seen on Ted Talk, heard on various interviews and podcasts, and on her own podcast with the BBC called Deeply Human.
