THE FIFTH BROADCAST ON JULY 29 will continue and perhaps conclude dis­cussion of the fourth epochal revelation, the bestowal on Urantia of our beloved Creator Son, Michael of Nebadon, in the human form of Jesus of Nazareth. We will start with question 12 on page 22 of Revelation Revealed, a provocative inquiry calling on participants to appraise remarks whereby Immanuel told Michael that he should “seek to avoid the formal establishment of an organized cult, a crystallized religion, or a segregated ethical grouping of mortal beings,” and then declared, “Your life and teachings are to become the common heritage of all re­ligions and all peoples” [Mantutia Melchizedek, 1330:1 / 120:3.6]. Thereafter, partici­pants will consider how and why the revelators adapted what Jesus actually said at Urmia, and will seek to analyze the fourth epochal revelation in terms of its purpose and function. THE FOURTH EPOCHAL REVELATION, the bestowal on Urantia of our beloved Creator Son, Michael of Nebadon, in the human form of Jesus of Nazareth is where we'll begin episode 4 of this series. We will start by reading and analyzing the bestowal commission that Immanuel gave to Michael just before he left Salvington, including Immanuel’s instructions that Michael should “in every possible manner seek to avoid the formal establishment of an organized cult, a crystallized religion, or a segregated ethical grouping of mortal beings.” Quite to the contrary, Immanuel assured him, “Your life and teachings are to become the common heri­tage of all religions and all peoples” [Mantutia Melchizedek, 1330:1 / 120:3.6].  Partici­pants will also review the summary of Jesus’ teachings at Urmia that the Midwayer Commission provides us in Paper 134, while con­sidering why the revelators found it necessary to adapt what Jesus actually said. If time permits, participants will also analyze the fourth epochal revelation in terms of its purpose and function, seeking to understand how it relates to the other four epochal revelations that have occurred thus far on Urantia and to the standard sequence of epochal revelations that a Mighty Messenger describes in Paper 52. We will start by examining how the mater­ial characteristics of Urantia compare with those of other inhabited planets in Satania — on the understanding that “Michael’s mortal bestowal was on Urantia but for all worlds of Nebadon” [the Midwayer Commission, 1514:2 / 136:4.1]. Partici­pants will also review patterns associated with the preceding six bestowals during which Michael appeared as personal beings with very different roles in Nebadon. Now that Michael has completed all seven bestowals, he “combines in his personal sovereignty the divine will of the sevenfold phases of the universal Creators with the understanding experience of his local universe crea­tures” [Man­tutia Melchizedek, 1324:2 / 120:0.5]. If time permits, participants will read and discuss the detailed bestowal commission that Michael received from Immanuel just before leaving Salvington (Paper 120, sections 1 through 3). WE WILL CONTINUE our series of broadcasts aimed at analyzing and appraising the characteristic patterns of epochal revelation. As was the case on July 1, discussion will be based on topic 1 of Revelation Revealed, an imaginative and innovative document by Neal Waldrop (247 pages) intended to foster active and interactive discussion of many key principles that the revelators have enshrined in The Urantia Book. Neal will continue to steer the discussion while serving as the moderator, just as he did during the series of broadcasts on the study guide on the work of the master seraphim (May-June 2013). THE SECOND BROADCAST ON JULY 8 will mainly focus on the second and third epochal revelations, the heartrending default of Adam and Eve and the emergency bestowal of Machiventa Melchizedek in the days of Abraham. The work of Adam and Eve was far from a total loss, for an Archangel tells us that “the influence of the violet race … produced an advance in civilization which … has far exceeded the progress of mankind throughout its entire previous existence of almost a million years” [an Archangel, 900:2 / 81:0.2]. Nonetheless, revealed truth was threatened with extinction. Therefore the twelve Melchizedek receivers eventually decided to dispatch one of their number “to bestow himself as an emergency Son of world ministry” [a Melchizedek, 1014:5 / 93:1.3]. If time permits, participants will also begin discussing certain aspects of the fourth epochal revelation, the bestowal of our beloved Creator Son, Michael of Nebadon, in the human form of Jesus of Nazareth. OUR PLANET URANTIA is unique in all Nebadon, and the epochal revelations that have occurred here up to now show many signs of the adjustments and adaptations that our spiritual superiors appear to have adopted in order to overcome highly unfavorable circumstances … or at least to make a good start in that direction! This is where our beloved Creator Son, Christ Michael of Nebadon, carried out his seventh bestowal in the human form of Jesus of Nazareth. Listeners will remember Neal as moderator, on the series on the master seraphim (May-June 2013). THE FIRST BROADCAST (July 1) will largely set the stage for the case-by-case analysis that follows, while pointing out that the spiritual administration of our planet involves so many departures from standard practice that we have every right to call it government by exception. If time permits, participants will discuss the active efforts to advance and uplift civilization that were an intrinsic feature of the first epochal revelation before Caligastia rebelled.

What does a total eclipse and Jesus' birthday have in common? Well, this year they are happening on the same day and we can celebrate both events together! We'll be meeting with Tom Allen, a devoted Urantian from Oklahoma City, to discuss how at the 4th Scientific Symposium. From Tom: It is with a great and joyful anticipation that the fourth Scientific Symposium (SSIV) will be held August 18-21 near Kansas City.  We await the first solar eclipse to come across North America in several decades.  This amazing eclipse will stretch all the way across the United States of America from Oregon to South Carolina. The wonderful thing for Urantia Book believers, is that this eclipse will occur on Jesus’ 2023rd birthday!  What a great event to honor our Sovereign and friend, Jesus of Nazareth.  Jesus shared our fascination with the heavens:  “He rejoiced to contemplate the Father through the inspiring spectacle of the starry realms of the Creator Sons.” (167:6.5)  And as a child “He evinced a troublesome penchant for lying on his back and gazing wonderingly up into the starry heavens long after his usual bedtime in this well-ordered Nazareth household.” (123:3.10)  We too will share this joy and inspiration. Science presentations, astronomy and wonderful musical arts will culminate in a banquet on Sunday night with a joyous remembrance of Jesus on the eve of his birthday. Our Creators want us to evolve high-quality souls as we unify our personalities and ascend through the seven psychic circles. We can consciously follow this path through the pursuit of two core practices suggested by the UB: “soul-making” and “self-perfecting”—two phrases coined by our guest, Byron Belitsos, a veteran UB reader. Byron’s discussion in this week's show will be based on his new book, Your Evolving Soul: The Cosmic Spirituality of the Urantia Revelation (Origin Press, 2017). This book—which is intended both for readers as well as nonreaders—offers an original interpretation of the UB’s spiritual teachings in the light of today’s developmental psychology, Jung’s concept of the individuation, Ken Wilber’s integral psychology, and contemporary paranormal studies. Byron also finds important parallels between the UB’s concepts of soul evolution and similar ideas in ancient Gnosticism, traditional Christian doctrine, and Buddhist psychology. A new take on soul evolution: The human soul is the largely unconscious harvest of the energetic reality of those human experiences that we generate through our more significant personal decisions. But we can also engage in conscious soul-making. The “sacred triad” and the evolving soul: We can better understand soul-making if we apportion three distinct aspects of self: the soul, the Thought Adjuster, and the unique personality. If we conflate any of these three parts of our “inner triad," we cannot understand the soul. This week we have a special episode planned with our own Derek Samaras. Derek passionately delves into modern discoveries of the ancient world, and he shares his keen insights on our program. Recently, he wrote an article on Ikhnaton, who was the father of King Tut. The Urantia Book deems him "The Remarkable Ikhnaton" and gives him his own section in the book. 80 years ago, the UB said this about Ikhnaton (known commonly as Akhenaten): "Never in all history did any king so methodically proceed to swing a whole nation from polytheism to monotheism as did this extraordinary Ikhnaton. With the most amazing determination this young ruler broke with the past, changed his name, abandoned his capital, built an entirely new city, and created a new art and literature for a whole people." Derek correlates this with modern discoveries. In his article, Derek writes: Akhenaten, the son of Amenhotep III was the young king of Egypt who ruled from around 1353 B.C. until 1336 B.C. and might be considered a revolutionary by today’s standards. During his short reign he successfully changed his name, relocated the capitol of Egypt from Thebes to a newly built Amarna, and united his people under monotheism. His writings were prolific as some are now immortalized in the Old Testament under Hebrew authorship. Akhenaten’s only problem was that his new religion based on morality and righteousness under one God was too much for most people to grasp at the time. When his short reign was over, there was an immediate reversion back to the old ways of worshiping Isis and Osiris. All of Akhenaten’s writings were subsequently destroyed, and his name has ever since been the subject of many speculations and wild tales by professional Egyptologists, Theologians, and Alien theorists. Join us this week as we explore with Derek his research and insights on this remarkable human leader.

This week we continue our study of Paper 76 with Adam and Eve in the Second Garden, "the land between the rivers"—the Euphrates and the Tigris. On the last episode in this series (two weeks ago) we covered the second two sections of this paper, 3. Life in Mesopotamia. 4. The Violet Race. We had a great conversation on these sections and we were again blessed to have the keen insights of Charles Olivea as our guest caller.  Adam and Eve migrated from the Edenic peninsula in the eastern Mediterranean to the New Eden. Even with their superior knowledge, their having been degraded in status to that of  mere humans, made the work of planetary upliftment extremely daunting. This paper recounts that struggle, but it is practical in that it shows how they courageously faced the challenges at hand. It is, after all, what we all must do in our brief and intense human experience on this most difficult planet.  The story of Adam and Eve is timeless and it still captures the collective imagination of humankind, even after thousands of years. The Urantia Book reveals why and it brings new meaning and understanding to this epic legend. This week we are reading of Sections 5. Death of Adam and Eve and 6. Survival of Adam and Eve. These sections will provide a fitting finale to our series of studies on Adam and Eve. Here's a tidbit from section 6: "Adam and Eve went to their mortal rest with strong faith in the promises made to them by the Melchizedeks that they would sometime awake from the sleep of death to resume life on the mansion worlds, worlds all so familiar to them in the days preceding their mission in the material flesh of the violet race on Urantia."
