The continence cult in later days it became the practice of "saints."  Many of the world's great religions have been adversely influenced by this ancient cult, but none more markedly than Christianity. The Apostle Paul was a devotee of this cult, and his personal views are reflected in the teachings which he fastened onto Christian theology.  Paul well knew that such teachings were not a part of Jesus' gospel, and his acknowledgment of this is illustrated by his statement, "I speak this by permission and not by commandment." But this cult led Paul to look down upon women. Furthermore, the involvement of a religion with the ancient continence cult leads directly to a war against marriage and the home, society's veritable foundation and the basic institution of human progress. This week will explore Paper 49 of The Urantia Book - The Inhabited Worlds.  An article on the NASA site in January of this year reported this: The centuries-old quest for other worlds like our Earth has been rejuvenated by the intense excitement and popular interest surrounding the discovery of hundreds of planets orbiting other stars. There is now clear evidence for substantial numbers of three types of exoplanets; gas giants, hot-super-Earths in short period orbits, and ice giants. The challenge now is to find terrestrial planets (i.e., those one half to twice the size of the Earth), especially those in the "habitable zone" of their stars where liquid water might exist on the surface of the planet. The Kepler Telescope's mission is specifically designed to survey our region of the Milky Way galaxy to discover hundreds of planets in or near the "habitable zone" and determine how many stars in our galaxy that might have such planets. New studies reveal that the Milky Way hosts at least 17 billion Earth-size alien planets, and probably many more. Modern astronomers have determined that about 17 percent of stars in our galaxy harbor an Earth-size exoplanet in a close orbit. It has been said that every law of probability states that there is LIFE on other planets. The Urantia Book stated this unequivocally in the 1930's, saying there are not just billions of inhabited worlds in space, there are actually trillions of inhabited worlds. It further states that there are some in close proximity to our precious blue marble of a planet. The Urantia Book reveals so much about life on other worlds and it's teachings are intriguing and inspiring. We've invited one of our favorite exoplanet aficionados, Lt. Peter stood up and declared that this must be the coming of the Spirit of Truth These men had been trained and instructed that the gospel which they should preach was the fatherhood of God and the sonship of man, but at just this moment of spiritual ecstasy and personal triumph, the best tidings, the greatest news, these men could think of was the fact of the risen Master.  Peter unwittingly led off in this mistake, and others followed after him on down to Paul, who created a new religion out of the new version of the good news. The gospel of the kingdom is: the fact of the fatherhood of God, coupled with the resultant truth of the sonship-brotherhood of men. An Investigation into The New Testament Bible The Book of Acts:  Luke-Acts of the Apostles.  From 3 perspectives * The Biblical worldview * The Academic/Scholastic * The Urantia Book The Gospel by Luke. Luke, the physician of Antioch in Pisidia, was a gentile convert of Paul, and he wrote quite a different story of the Master's life. He began to follow Paul and learn of the life and teachings of Jesus in A.D. 47. Luke preserves much of the "grace of the Lord Jesus Christ" in his record as he gathered up these facts from Paul and others. Luke presents the Master as "the friend of publicans and sinners." He did not formulate his many notes into the Gospel until after Paul's death. Luke wrote in the year 82 in Achaia. He planned three books dealing with the history of Christ and Christianity but died in A.D. 90 just before he finished the second of these works, the "Acts of the Apostles." .As material for the compilation of his Gospel, Luke first depended upon the story of Jesus' life as Paul had related it to him. Luke's Gospel is, therefore, in some ways the Gospel according to Paul. It was indeed a fact that the tomb was empty, but this is not the truth of the resurrection. The tomb was truly empty when the first believers arrived, and this fact, associated with that of the undoubted resurrection of the Master, led to the formulation of a belief which was not true: the teaching that the material and mortal body of Jesus was raised from the grave. 189:2.7.The tomb of Joseph was empty, not because the body of Jesus had been rehabilitated or resurrected, but because the celestial hosts had been granted their request to afford it a special and unique dissolution, a return of the "dust to dust," without the intervention of the delays of time and without the operation of the ordinary and visible processes of mortal decay and material corruption. This week, in honor of the Urantia Book Fellowship's successful outreach to the UFO Conference in AZ earlier this month, we are our replaying an interview with retired USAF Lieutenant Colonel, Donald M. Ware. Donald Ware has studied UFOs since he saw seven alien vehicles over Washington, DC on July 26,1952. He received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University in 1957 and an MS in Nuclear Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 1972. After serving his country as a fighter pilot, staff scientist, test manager, and teacher, he retired from USAF in 1982. Don is an authority on the UFO phenomenon and has lectured all over the world. He served as State Director and Eastern Regional Director for MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) and has been a Director of the International UFO Congress. He is now on an Advisory Board of the Exopolitics Institute trying to move formal interaction with those from other planets to an unclassified level below that of MJ-12. His search for truth has led to physical, mental, and spiritual interactions with the larger reality represented by the alien presence. Meaning of the Death on the Cross Although Jesus did not die this death on the cross to atone for the racial guilt of mortal man nor to provide some sort of effective approach to an otherwise offended and unforgiving God; even though the Son of Man did not offer himself as a sacrifice to appease the wrath of God and to open the way for sinful man to obtain salvation; notwithstanding that these ideas of atonement and propitiation are erroneous, nonetheless, there are significances attached to this death of Jesus on the cross which should not be overlooked. Death is the last act in the mortal drama. In your well-meant efforts to escape the superstitious errors of the false interpretation of the meaning of the death on the cross, you should be careful not to make the great mistake of failing to perceive the true significance and the genuine import of  Jesus' death. Mortal man was never the property of the archdeceivers. Jesus did not die to ransom man from the clutch of the apostate rulers. God never conceived of such crass injustice as damning a mortal soul because of the evil-doing of his ancestors.
