Happy Capricorn Full Moon! Join show host Cory Nakasue and show producer Mandee Sheeler for another Full Moon episode of The Cosmic Dispatch.

Cory begins the show reminding listeners to email in any show ideas and listener questions to [email protected] - This gives us insight as to what content our listeners are looking for specifically. We love hearing from our community. 

Next, Cory takes us through the astrology of the week, and introduces us to dwarf planet Ceres. The story of Pluto, Ceres, and Persephone is peppered throughout this episode, and the Pluto return of America is introduced.

The big astrology of the week is this week's Capricorn Full Moon on Wednesday July 13th.  This week's full moon invites us to sit with what we know is coming. Hey there! This is the very first (of hopefully many more to come) episode of The Cosmic Dispatch Off The Chart. 

The “Off The Chart” episodes are full of content that didn’t make it in the weekly show. We hope to offer reflections on past episodes as well as previews of upcoming episodes, in addition to a lot more -unfiltered- content. 

Tune into our new series for more casual & candid conversations around what it’s like to be a consulting astrologer, an astrology student, practitioner and/or teacher. This sub-series is for people that want to take an even deeper look into the conversations we are already having on the show. 

Episodes will contain conversations between show host Cory Nakasue & producer Mandee Sheeler as well as guests from the show and the community. This series offers a bit more flexibility and doesn’t require us to be so… “radio friendly”.

Ep 29. The Rejected Feminine/Decolonization | This week’s episode begins a little differently. Because last week’s episode got lost, Cory spends the very beginning of this episode backtracking over some of last week's astrology that's still humming pretty loudly this week. 

The current lunation cycle that we are in is very unsettling, but Cory reminds us that though unsettling there’s also great opportunity, if handled with care. Last week’s Cancer New Moon was powerful & challenged by Jupiter in Aries. The new moon was also conjunct Black Moon LIlith. Black Moon Lilith represents a point in space where the moon is farthest from earth and is associated with the darker, or shadow side of Cancer. Cory then shares more about the myths associated with Lilith & the story's resemblance to the feminine uprising of today. 

Last week warrior Planet Mars also made a conjunction with dwarf planet Eris (in Aries) and then aspected Pluto, serving as a trigger. In last week’s episode Cory described this as: “the volcanic eruption”. Eris, the goddess of discord has been locked in a square with Pluto, Lord of the underworld for about two years. Cory then shares the mythology of Eris as she was also recently activated. 

The “big astrology” for the week ahead isn’t all that “big” comparatively speaking. This week we have some inter-planet shifts including Mar’s ingress into earth sign Taurus, and Mercury moving into water sign Cancer. This is a more palpable change of pace and represents a slow down before the astrology of weeks to come. This is a time to “rest (Taurus) and digest (Cancer)”. 

During the second half of the show Cory is joined by Abigail Kirby Conklin. Abby is a writer, advocate, performer & education professional currently based in Ontario. Abby is currently doing graduate work in decolonial and anti-racsit education. Cory speaks with Abby about how her chart is incredibly representative of the moment and how Abby is the “poster child” of the current energy. Ep. 27 - Cancer 101: The Whole-Bodied Feminine

Join us for a Summer Solstice edition of The Cosmic Dispatch!

Cory jumps right into this episode with a quick Cancer Season 101. This solstice episode is a little different from previous episodes - special guest Sara B. Franklin joins Cory during the first half of the show. Sara has her PhD in Food Studies from NYU. She is a writer, professor, gardener, professional pie baker, mother of twins and co-author of The Phoenicia Diner Cookbook: Dishes and Dispatches from the Catskill Mountains. Join Cory and Sara for a very Cancerian conversation about the fierce feminine archetype as it's expressed through food, labor, traditions, and family lineages.. 

During the second half of the show Cory shares this week's astro-weather. The “main event” this week happens Tuesday - the Sun ingresses into cardinal-water sign Cancer. (The Summer Solstice.) Cancer marks the first water sign on the zodiac wheel and is the sign that ushers in Summer. This week we enter into a time with extended daylight. There is more illuminated now and this time represents the culmination of the last 6 months. 

Wednesday June 22, Venus ingresses into Gemini. But not before one last date with Pluto, Venus will be leaving home sign Taurus, but this may still be a welcomed change as Taurus is a heavy spot in the chart right now. The rest of June is a real “gather ye rosebuds while ye may” moment. In Gemini, Venus isn’t thinking about long term investments. Venus is sampling a little bit of everything during its transit through mutable Gemini. Enjoy the fun this week! There will be time for more serious things later. 

Cory reminds listeners: Throughout the month of June we will be able to see 5 Planets in the sky, in planetary order. Prime time to view planets is just before dawn.

Ep. 26 - Full Moon Sagittarius: Fantasy, Narrative, and the Real Deal | Hopefully everyone enjoyed a little bit of downtime last week - we have quite the shift in energy this week! Tune in to this week's show to join show host Cory Nakasue for an astrology packed episode of The Cosmic Dispatch.

This is the perfect time to examine how we relate to and learn from the world around us. The sun is still in information gathering Gemini and the moon will be fully illuminated in the mutable fire sign of Sagittarius. This full moon is in aspect to Neptune in Pisces so it may be easy to drift away - which can be just what’s needed, just be prepared for coming back down to earth. Ep 25 - Gemini Season: The Writing Episode | This episode is about words: how they work, when they don't work, why we're afraid of them, and how to use them better...because we're stuck with using them! 

This week, Cory breaks down the current condition of Mercury in aspect to Saturn. This first full week of June we have some much needed “stabilizing” energy, but we are reminded to not get too comfy. 

Mercury stationed direct on Friday June 3rd and is still transiting the late degrees of slow, earth sign Taurus this week. Mercury is still in its shadow phase and hanging out on the degree of the recent eclipse. This means Mercury still has to traverse the terrain it navigated in its retrograde motion. This week Mercury is also in a square with a retrograde Saturn, which can be a tense aspect. There can be an element of feeling “bogged down” as a result of astro-weather. 

Words are the jurisdiction of Gemini and Mercury. During the second half of the show Cory is joined by guest Sari Botton for a conversation about talking (and writing)! Sari is an author and editor and has a new memoir, And You May Find Yourself… Confessions of a Late-Blooming Gen-X Weirdo, coming out June 14th. 

Cory recently did an interview for Oldster Magazine, the brain-child of this episode's guest, Sari. Sari uses Oldster Magazine to help explore what it means to travel through time in a human body.

Ep. 24 - New Moon Gemini | This episode begins with a little “retro-astro weather” as The Cosmic Dispatch was on a short break last week. Show host Cory Nakasue jumps right in with last week's astro-weather before sharing her Astro-Prompts and New Moon Playlist. 

Last week's astro-weather included Mercury’s retrograde back into the sign of Taurus on May 23rd. This may have brought up something from the past that’s worth revisiting before moving forward again. We also had Mars move into home sign Aries. This has a very different flavor to it than Mars in Pisces. There is a directness, energy towards assertion and more precise - straight forward action that comes with Mars in Aries. 

On May 28th, Venus also moved into her home sign of Taurus. Cory shares that Venus in Taurus is like coming home and settling in letting it all hang out. Venus is able to do whatever she wants to do in Taurus. The energy of this transit will last a couple more weeks and brings a focus on tangible enjoyments, relaxation and simple pleasures. 

Cory later sets out to quash some of the misgivings about Mutable air sign Gemini and invites us celebrate the benefits of being neither here nor there. 

On Monday May 30th we have a New Moon in the sign of Gemini, which is ruled by a retrograde Mercury. This can bring new starts around conversations, projects and even friendships - though their initiation may be a little tricky. This may be a time when something from the past is up for re-consideration or re-negotiation before fully moving on with the new piece. 

Cory then shares a new moon playlist and Gemini season Astroprompts. Astroprompts are creative prompts meant to serve as a jumping off point for creation - aligned with the energy of the season.

Ep. 23 - Astrology Roundtable | Join us for the first Cosmic Dispatch Astrology Roundtable! On this special episode show host Cory Nakasue will be chatting with: Mandee Sheeler, Jillian Sweeney & Elena Valdez about the astrology of the week ahead. 

This week's astrology kicks off with a lunar eclipse in Scorpio. Eclipses are generally a tense time and this one is no different. This eclipse is happening on the Taurus-Scorpio Axis and has potential to bring something up for release in some area of your life. There may be a sense of letting go, finishing up or a new revelation with this lunation. 

This week we also have a Mars Neptune conjunction. This can be an aggressive or impatient transit. There's a lot of energy towards fighting for something we believe in at this time, and it's important to make sure our vision is clear under the influence of this conjunction.

This week the Sun also ingresses into Gemini, as well as the Mercury-Sun cazimi. During this time Mercury is still retrograde, though in its home sign, this will likely add more movement to the energy of the week. We are likely to learn something new during this time & may find we are learning some lessons around communication under this transit.

Ep 22 - Mother Earth and the Upcoming Mercury Retrograde | Join us for a very Mercury Retrograde/ Eclipse episode of The Cosmic Dispatch! This week’s episode begins with the major astrology of the week of Monday May 9th. 

This week we have Mercury stationing retrograde in their own, home sign of Gemini & Jupiter ingresses to fire sign Aries. This Mercury retrograde may have you feeling as though you are backtracking and can feel very disruptive. Cory reminds listener’s that May is Mental Health awareness month and encourages taking extra care of our minds during this transit and offers suggestions on how to do so during the first part of this episode. 

During the middle part of the show Cory speaks with Mandee Sheeler about the integration of Taurus and Gemini. 

Taurus is often associated with: food, the planet, plants, and caretaking. Tune into the last part of the show to hear from Aileah Kvashay, director of Clove Valley Community Farm. Aileah directs a community of people that grow “beyond organic” produce. Clove Valley Community Farm is both a production-oriented veggie farm and a community education center. They grow no-spray and no-till produce. 

Clove Valley Community Garden is open to the public every Thursday April-November from 4:00pm-until dark. You can shop, participate in farm activities, or just hand out and enjoy community and connection.
