We @TheCottage explore how the ancient people of the Bible to whom God was speaking understood the Scriptures to show us how God was speaking to them yet communicating to them revelation for all of us even today even if in their context.
In this episode, we continue reviewing our series in Joel 2 making all the tie-ins between Joel 2 and Acts 2 with tie-ins in the NT to understanding from the beginning how this paradigm we've been tracking will help us better understand what may be taking place in Gen 3:8 and unraveling some of the mystery behind the event we call the Fall. Many have wrapped so much of what they think it implied in the text with their later theology, that the biblical theology which would help one to better read the event gets overlooked. We return to what more likely is being expressed in this passage to give us a much better perspective in which to understand the biblical narrative as a whole rather than reading later thought back into the text, we take what more than likely would have been the author's point of view when the Lord had this initially recorded to convey to the people of that day itself. From their perspective, we can then begin to understand better what it means for us today.
In Part 3, we explored the presence of God as a precursor to us being God's light in the darkness now we continue the theme with Paul's comments in 2 Cor chapter 4.
We are laying the foundation to discovering the riches hidden in the ancient Scriptures of God's people to learn God's way of doing and being in our daily lives. Stay tuned for our future episodes as we continue to discover more mysteries of the Bible in the sessions that follow.

In Part One, we focus on the KJV's "they heard the sound" and see why modern translations like the ESV choose the more ambiguous term "sound" instead of voice when both could well be intended to give us a more precise picture of what was intended for us to takeaway from this event. Past Two picked up and brought it about in a much deeper level. Now in Part 3, we explore the presence of God as a precursor to us being God's light in the darkness.
