November 04, 2024274 Walking in the Dark in Isaiah 50:10-11We @TheCottage explore how the ancient people of the Bible to whom God was speaking understood the Scriptures to show us how God was speaking to them yet communicating to them revelation for all of us even today even if in their context. In this session, we explore a very controversial topic in how Isaiah took the road less traveled and chose to follow God thru the dark path rather than taking the easier route in the false light this world presents. In today's environment, the church is being called to walk in darkness with the Lord rather in the lights we have made to shine in place of God. When we must go thru this darkness, we become the light and fear no evil. Light cannot mix with darkness but Satan comes as an angel of light to deceive and we must be aware and choose God's path as Jesus did when he chose the cross over compromise with corruption. We have mixed far too long in the complacency of lesser evils and are being plunged into greater evil and are no longer transforming but conforming to this world and must decide to turn toward God's ways anew for the genuine gospel and its goodness amid much vitriol. We are God's city to shine in this present darkness by the light of love and not hatred and being hospitable rather than hostile toward one another and become in one accord again. We are laying the foundation to discovering the riches hidden in the ancient Scriptures of God's people to learn God's way of doing and being in our daily lives.
