The Cottage Witch

Hester discusses a wide variety of watery aspects and associations.  This is the first of five episodes dedicated to the five elements of water, earth, air, and fire--and the fifth element--or quintessence--often also known as Spirit.

Hester discusses the foundations as well as the science and spirituality behind elemental magic and also the sweet springtime energy that blossoms from Ostara to Easter

Hester first discusses simple magical activities to capture this past February's BIG energy (and any energy vortices, really). Even now, just a few simple magical activities and practices can still bring that level of energy blowing right into your own cottage and witchy lifestyle every single day.  This is then followed by last October's partial outdoor journey into finding sacred spaces in your own community and on your own land.

Hester talks all about making fun and witchy Yule gifts on a budget this season. Baked goods, sewing projects, love banshees, rune and pendulum divination boxes, and spell jar ornaments are all under consideration in this comprehensively fun and creative episode.

Hester embraces the spinning Wheel of the Year by acknowledging the Dark and also looking for the Light that are both present throughout the Winter season. She also previews the Seasons of the Witch Oracle Deck.

What is Sacred Space? And what do we really mean by the "Thinning Veil" that witch-minded folk so often speak about at this time of the year? Hester answers many questions and provides some interesting background to one of the most exciting seasons. Then she explores the interconnection between Druidism and Wicca by way of The Druid Craft Tarot Deck and a single card pull.

Hester begins Season Two of The Cottage Witch as she begins the academic year anew--and for the last time. She talks about Harvest as a whole season as well, focusing on bread and blackberries for Lughnasadh and the concept of liminality--the in-between times and spaces.

Hester explains the basic format to most spells by comparing them to kitchen recipes. She walks through that format, suggesting ways to simplify it as well as add on additional layers, depending on the depth of casting you'd like to achieve. Then she also suggests a wide variety of ways to increase their power and effectiveness. Finally, she encourages witches to record both their workings and the results in their Book of Shadows.

Hester discusses the sun feast of Midsummer and includes fun and interesting themes to make the coming days even more magical, including incorporating a bit of William Shakespeare's play, A Midsummer Night's Dream into your magical celebrations.

Hester has ideas for adding more color to your life and surroundings in order to better hone your witchy practices, project the color associations and traits you most desire in life, and dress to achieve the outcomes you desire as well as attract strong, creative influences into your life and your day.
