There is plenty to unpack as this movie is a lot different to the trilogy that everybody is familiar with. The Mellon Heads also break down the series of events that transpired over the Holidays concerning the viral internet "feud" between them and The Tolkien Society.

On todays episode of The Council of Elrond, we talk about the ever secretive and elusive Blue Wizards. These are the two lesser known wizards who roamed Middle-earth which make up the 5 istari (wizards) along with Gandalf, Saruman and Radagast. Why don't we know much about them? Do they appear or get mentioned in Peter Jacksons movies? What area of Middle-earth did they live in? All these questions are looked at and your two hosts give their insights (lol) and opinions on these mystical mavericks.

On the episode this week we discuss one of the creepiest and most mysterious locations in Middle-earth - The Dead Marshes. We see these wetlands fantastically portrayed in Peter Jackson's depiction and it gives us some idea of what this area could have looked like. But what happened here before the events of Lord of the Rings? Who were the dead people in the water? Why did the dead light candles? And why was Frodo drawn to them? We answer these questions and take a look at other events and wars that led to this wasteland getting its famous name - The Dead Marshes!
