Sr. Regional Director Shawn Blajszczak of the Wyoming Mule Deer Foundation spent a few minutes telling us more about what the organization does, how we can help and their March 7th banquet in Lander.

(Lander, WY) – The KOVE 1330 AM / 107.7 FM Today in the 10 interview series Coffee Time continued this past week with host Vince Tropea, who recently spoke with Ceatriss Wall and Caitlin Delbridge with Leadership Fremont County.

Leadership Fremont County’s mission is to “provide leaders who are committed to excellence and progress in Fremont County the opportunity to better understand the general public policy issues, economic and social diversity and the challenges facing our county; and to prepare them, through shared mutual interests and the leadership skills developed, to be active in building a better Fremont County.”

Each year, a new class participates in Leadership Fremont County, and Wall and Delbridge stopped by to talk about their class’s public service project, which is “Lunches of Love” for 2026.

The Lunches of Love project aims to streamline efforts to provide funds for school lunch/breakfast “Angel Funds,” which help pay for student meal debt. (You can donate using the QR code below or by following the link above.)

The Expo will take place at CWC on February 24 from 9 AM to 3 PM in the Robert A. Peck Arts Center.

Olson-Roden stopped by to talk about recent efforts by the City of Riverton and the Chamber to form a committee to plan Semiquincentennial events in Riverton on July 4th, in celebration of our nation’s 250th anniversary. 

Olson-Roden shared that Riverton is also celebrating its 120th anniversary in 2026, and the committee hopes the planned events will showcase celebrations for both milestones.

Olson-Roden shares tentative plans for the July 4th celebrations, including a parade, concerts/cowboy poetry in the park, a cookout, kids’ games, a hot-dog-eating contest, a skateboard competition, and much more. She also provides details on how folks can get involved in the planning and help out as volunteers.

The 2026 Pig Roast will take place on July 25, and the folks who put the event on every year are already meeting monthly to prepare.

The meetings take place on the third Wednesday of each month, leading up to the roast, where folks interested in helping can get more details. The meetings take place at the Lander VFW Hall, located at 11 Tweed Lane.
