Our culture is shifting; times are changing; the world is evolving. Some of those changes are good, and some of those changes should distress you if you are a follower of Christ. In the book of Daniel, Daniel lived in a similar situation when he was taken captive and exiled from Jerusalem to Babylon in 606 B.C. His world immediately changed-his surroundings, his culture, even his language. He found himself living among pagan people with ungodly customs in an ungodly culture. Yet, Daniel remained true to the Lord his God despite the pressure to compromise his principles and his faith. He lived by the courage of his convictions. So should we! Let's learn from Daniel's example to live out our faith in our own "Babylon" with unwavering conviction.
