“The courage to be happy also includes the courage to be disliked. When you have gained that courage, your interpersonal relationships will all at once change into things of lightness.”
There are certain threads that you can pull and all at once numerous things fall away and a new reality can be experienced. While many aspects of growth are long processes, sometimes you can hit upon something that immediately lifts you onto a higher plateau with a greater vision. In my personal journey over the past several months, shifting career paths and fields of study, as well as speaking out more about injustice and the rights of others, I have discovered how very real it is to want to be liked, and to fear rejection. If we are authentically finding our courage, we will feel lighter.
If you are completely honest with yourself, what choices do you make on a regular basis that are about pleasing others?
