Shortly after the death of Joseph Smith, descendants of Brigham Young and Joseph Smith have been at odds with each other. Mary Ellen Elggren and Gracia Jones, direct descendants of Brigham and Joseph, respectively, share a story of intrigue, tears, human nature, the involvement of an apostle and the First Presidency, and the working of the spirit to bring peace between the two groups. The story is informative, but more importantly, a spiritual adventure in the working of the Spirit.

I first met Dan when he immigrated to Israel and stayed with us for ten days nearly 43 years ago. The Rona’s story of their move to Israel is a great lesson about following the Spirit. This podcast covers a wide range of subjects that I am sure you will find informative, entertaining and uplifting.

My guests today are LDS filmmakers Robert Hatch and Robert Starling, and you are in for a treat. If you enjoyed the previous podcast The Matthew Cowley Project with filmmakers Marcy Brown and Liz Thomas, you will also find this podcast of interest as we discuss a wide range of subjects. We had a great time during the recording of this podcast; that time got away from us. This is the first podcast that does not discuss the scriptures specifically; however, it does contain discussions on doctrine and principles. I am sure you will enjoy listening to Hatch and Starling as much I enjoyed meeting them and recording this session.

From time to time, I enjoy interviewing returned missionaries, hearing how serving Heavenly Father for two years has changed them, and learning of their goals for the future, and of course, how they study the scriptures; today is one of those times as I interview Tate Hertzler.

Mark Arrington shares us with his experience as a police officer and as a member of the church trying to keep his marriage intact helps us more fully understand the challenges those in law enforcement face and why the divorce rate for those in law enforcement is so high. His experience on the other side of the law as a defense attorney helped me to understand better the role of a defense attorney and the attitude of those he defends. Blend all of this with his membership in the church, the importance of the scriptures in his life, and his deep testimony of the gospel. We end up with one fascinating story.
