For the last episode in the series, Darragh and Ellen look at ecology and the interconnectedness of many of the challenges facing society. They ask if the COVID and climate crises are actually symptoms of a broader problem, namely our broken relationship with nature.
In the opening episode, hosts Darragh Wynne and Ellen Hegarty explain the basic premise of the series: we can learn a lot from our experience of COVID to better understand and deal with the climate crisis.
Episode 1 focuses on the concept of a timelag; the delay between actions occurring and seeing the consequences of those actions.
With COVID, it takes a few weeks between transmission of the virus and a peak in deaths. With climate change, it will be decades and centuries before we see the impacts of the emissions we have already pumped into the atmosphere. All the more reason to act now!
Join Darragh Wynne and Ellen Hegarty over the course of 7 episodes as they ask how our experience of COVID can help better prepare us for climate change.
