A Post-Christmas cheer on this Monday, deciding these Cowboys have become an offensive team, able to overcome an early mistake and the defense’s inability to slow down the Hurts-less Eagles. Good update on Sam Williams after his pre-Christmas car accident, how the Cowboys manned the cornerback position and Anthony Barr’s big game. And how about T.Y. Hilton leading the NFL with a 52-yard average per catch. Well, sorta.

With the temps turning bitterly cold – for here – and a little snow blowing around, the guys were in the Christmas spirit, handing out atta boys to the Cowboys seven Pro Bowl selections, give injury updates and how the Cowboys will adjust to those missing for the Christmas Eve game against the Eagles, especially at the cornerback positions. Tackling the biggest issue facing the Cowboys this week, who plays corner opposite Trevon Diggs, with Anthony Brown out for the season with the ruptured Achilles. The Cowboys have said there is open competition. Well, by process of deduction, maybe the Cowboys need to lean more on rookie slot corner DaRon Bland since he’s the only active corner having played the second most snaps to Diggs this season. And giving proper respect to Franco Harris.

With injuries piling up, the Cowboys will have to consider options at cornerback, linebacker, defensive end and possibility of making T.Y. Hilton active on game day. And Everson analyzing the possibility of having one corner with two responsibilities, outside against two-wide formations and slot against three wide, along with some talk about dealing with either Jalen Hurts or Gardner Minshew at quarterback for the Eagles. Great insight.

No matter how well the Cowboys played for nearly three quarters or scoring 34 points, usually enough to win any game, the guys break down the reasons and moments why the Cowboys were beaten by the Jaguars 40-34 in overtime. Most of those centered on the defense giving up 503 total yards and failing to put enough pressure on Trevor Lawrence. Plus breaking down injuries that their absences are causing diminishing returns.

The guys get down to brass tacks on this Jacksonville game, discussing the best option of who takes Terence Steele’s spot at right tackle and how much if any T.Y. Hilton might play Sunday. Then there is Jacksonville, how well Trevor Lawrence has been playing and how well the Jaguars have been protecting their quarterback. Meaning the Cowboys better not be taking anything for granted since the jags have a lot on the line still.

Since Bill missed Monday’s podcast, the guys get his thoughts on the win over Houston. Then a little stretch run talk, and how the NFC East could go down to the final week of the season. And then a deep dive into T.Y. Hilton, the first show after the new wide receiver’s press conference and just what he brings to the team. Also anticipating what the offensive line shuffle might look like with the loss of Steele and addition of Tyron.

No matter how many things went wrong for the Cowboys, somehow, someway, they recovered to beat the Texans. Even though the Texans scored 23 points, the guys gave big props to the defense for hanging in there, especially stopping them on downs from the 4-yard line. But now how do the Cowboys replace Terence Steele at right tackle and how soon might Tyron Smith be ready to go.
