Chris and I speak about his creative process, when and why videographers should consider renting equipment, the joy of failing in business doing what you love, It's an inspiring conversation about finding pleasure in the hardship and difficulties of the daily grind, which is something that everyone can certainly benefit from. I found this conversation one of the most inspiring from season 3, so enjoy the episode!

Connect with Alex Leonard, Founder of AL MediaThis episode is with Dexter Crowe, someone I've personally known for years who I connected with recently to hear about his latest musical endeavors.
Halaken Collective is the birthplace of a global collective of creators united by the power of art for change. It is a multi-media label intent on cultivating a platform to bridge East and West, the traditional and progressive, the magnificent and unnoticed through music and video. Dexter and Mercan are two creative forces behind the releases that are focusing on really inspiring projects and putting a ton of passion and drive behind every project they do!
They are creating a platform where artists of all disciplines connected by values are able to collaborate creating meaningful art with a consciousness for the social, environmental, and humanitarian challenges facing today's world. It's an awesome project with some stellar music, I highly suggest checking it out!

Connect with Alex Leonard, Founder of AL MediaFrom the very beginning, Ever After Music Fest (EAMF) in Kitchener, Ontario has been a landmark event for bass heads from around the world. It combines top headliners, underground artists, and upcoming talent in a unique setting with a stellar sound system to deliver quality year after year.
What's super cool about Ever After Music Festival is that it is an event that is run by a family-owned company primarily getting its revenue from ticket sales. Unfortunately, the 3-day festival was canceled last year due to COVID-19.
I caught up with Gabriel Mattacchione at the end of September last year that is part of a larger story piece I am making in collaboration with Radio Western on the impact of the pandemic on the music industry. Stay tuned for that!
My conversation here with Gabriel is a raw and real interview where we go into the festival's origins, how they've carved out a niche, and strategies for handling this crisis of a pandemic. Even from having worked in the entertainment sector for years, I still found this a really interesting conversation and I learned a lot, giving me more respect for Gabriel and his team to run such a big event. So I hope you enjoy it.

Connect with Alex Leonard, Founder of AL MediaThe latest podcast interview is with a founder of N.E.C. Productions, Jason Carpenter, a successful entrepreneur in London, Ontario that has helped the electronic scene grow and flourish in my hometown. Jason is an experienced business owner with a demonstrated history of working in the events services industry. He's skilled in advertising, sales, accounting, promotional marketing, and party planning. I was lucky to have the pleasure of sitting down with Jason to learn about how he's been able to create one of Canada's thriving music scenes, supporting countless DJs over the past 20 years by helping them launch successful careers.
N.E.C. Productions is one of Southwestern Ontario's first event planning and marketing team specializing in electronic music. Keeping it dirty since 2001, with a full roster of talented local artists ready to shine. Whether it's a festival, a club night, or a dark basement, the party is our playground. N.E.C. Productions help in supporting the community, the artists, and the music.
Jason and I dig deep into the history of N.E.C. Productions, differences between the rave scene over when he started compared to the last 5 years, as well as the importance of building a loyal local following. With COVID-19 putting a full stop of live events, the ever entrepreneur, Jason has pivoted, of course, and now organizes live streams on Twitch every weekend to help keep the music going and giving a platform for DJs to share their new music and fresh sets.
I had a lot of fun catching up with Jason on the show and look forward to sharing this podcast with you!
