How do you express yourself? How do you express your sadness, frustrations, anger, happiness, joy, bliss, etc.? In this episode I talk about how we are meant to express ourselves through the creative process and how healing that can be. With everything going on in the world, what better way to do this than through art?

I share some insights from Elizabeth Gilbert’s book Big Magic and how she allowed her creativity to flow. I also share how I get myself out of the creativity rut so you don’t have to feel stuck anymore.

Mixed media visual artist, Creativity Coach and Animal Lightworker Miabella Wolfsong specializes in painting ethereal dreamscapes, channeled light language symbolism and animal allies. She hand mixes her own acrylic paint recipes and color ways and plays with touches of intentional light reflection and iridescence. She weaves prayers of peace, joy, hope and love into every piece.

Rona Rodrig is a passionate holistic healer and meditation teacher. She blends her expertise in energy and sound healing, Reiki, intuitive reading, and meditation to create personalized healing sessions and group sound baths and meditation circles for adults and teens. Through her one-on-one and group sessions in Los Angeles and online she helps people find stillness, re-balance energetically, and heal on a physical, mental, psychological and vibrational level. In the process, many of her clients glean profound insights, release pain and dis-ease, and connect with their authentic selves, hearts, and inner wisdom. Rona’s intention is not only to hold healing space for people, but also to impart tools for them to gain awareness and confidence on their conscious healing journeys. Shaena Rabbani is a stand up comedian and lover of life. In this episode we talk about getting out of our comfort zones and leaning into the fear. She also creates art for public art installations and is about to install 2 large computerized and motorized kinetic works of art for a new hospital in Nashville, TN. With her company, Artistic Adventures Abroad, McCampbell also leads creative workshops in the US and abroad.

Her in-depth knowledge of art materials, design and principles of art, provide each student with a strong background in foundational art school instruction. McCampbell believes that, “If you understand your medium, the basics of design theory and enjoy playing, then you will achieve your vision.”

Marlaine Figueroa Gray, PhD, is a medical anthropologist with a passion for eliciting illness narratives and health care experiences from patients, family members, and medical professionals. She has researched how the intersection of creative practices and medical care provide insight into understanding the logic of biomedical care, what counts as evidence that a creative activity "works," and how arts activities can serve as a model of how to provide better, more patient- and family-centered care. She is particularly interested in how we attend to patient suffering, and in what types of care are possible when no medical treatments are available.

Her previous work includes examining education policy in sub-Saharan Africa and developing curricula for health education, specifically HIV/AIDS education in Kenya and Mozambique.
