With the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts as our artist-in-residence this year, we welcome Celeste Fetta on the podcast to discuss how they will partner with us at the VCU School of Business. She is currently Chief Educator at VMFA and has been with the museum for 14 years, serving in a variety of roles. Within the Education department, her focus has been on gallery education and interpretation and programming across audiences. After a little technical trouble with our feed, we are bringing you a double shot of Creativity at Work to close out the fall semester! On this edition, Caroline Moyer-Kardos, a second year strategy student at the VCU Brandcenter, sits down with Karen Costello, the Chief Creative Officer at the Martin Agency, which has its roots right here in Richmond, VA. Costello, who is the first female CCO in the company’s 53-year history, repeatedly appears on top creative lists, and most notably was named #3 on Business Insider’s list of top creative women in advertising.

Joining us on this episode is Dr. Roni Reiter-Palmon who is The Varner Professor of Industrial/Organizational Psychology and director of the I/O Psychology Graduate Program at UNO. Reiter-Palmon also serves as director for the Center for Collaboration Science, an interdisciplinary program at UNO. She teaches creativity and innovation in organizations, leadership, statistics and personnel selection which is why she was also selected to be the Fall 2018 scholar-in-residence for the VCU School of Business. Her research interests include creativity and innovation at the individual, team and organization level; cognitive processes of creativity; leading creative and interdisciplinary teams; team decision-making; and leadership development which makes her a perfect guest for our podcast. This years Creativity Czar joins us to outline how he will implement creativity at work right here at the VCU School of Business. However Joe Ruiz is not just our guide along our creative journey this year. He also teaches marketing and owns his own consulting firm, Strategic Marketing Solutions. He gives us his insight into creativity from all these various positions and also tells us what it means to be a Lego Serious Play certified facilitator.

Class is in session again at the VCU School of Business and so begins another semester of Creativity at Work. We open the fall session with David Fisk, executive director of The Richmond Symphony, who also happens to be our artist in residence this year. Fisk not only serves in a leadership role with the Symphony but is an accomplished pianist as well. He talks about the depth and creativity behind music and explains how that thinking can be applied to almost anything, even if you've never touched an instrument. We are extremely excited to share his unique perspective and showcase creativity at work through the artistry of the Richmond Symphony.
