Welcome back Creators, and happy Monday! This is another one of our Coffee Chat episodes, which are casual conversations about specific topics in creative fields. Today, we're chatting with Cairo Dye, the Manager of Programs and Events for the National Hellenic Museum. We discuss everything from what her job entails, how the National Hellenic Museum is handling COVID with new types of programming, and the role that museums play in the digital age.
Cairo has an upcoming conference that she's helping to organize for the Chicago Cultural Alliance called Activating Heritage. Activating Heritage is an annual conference, but this year it is virtual, so you don't have to be in Chicago to attend! Cairo will be monitoring two panels—one on COVID-19 era-resilience in the arts, and the other on the future of hybridization in the arts.
The conference takes place April 6th-April 10th, and tickets can be purchased online at activatingheritage.org.
