From “experienced couples” and “drama-free” claims to filtered photos, validations, name-dropping, and references upon request, lifestyle profiles can start looking suspiciously like professional résumés—with about the same amount of creative exaggeration. We talk profile inflation, social credibility, couple-hopping, body count, popularity versus actual merit, and why sometimes the candidate looks a whole lot better on paper than they do in the interview.

Our advice? Update your profile, keep it factual, lose the corporate buzzwords, and for God’s sake, stop with the filters.

This week, we take a break from criticizing everyone else and turn the spotlight on ourselves. We rewind to the beginning and tell the completely normal, wholesome story of how we stumbled—actually, were more or less shoved—headfirst into the lifestyle.
