This sermon we saw how an encounter with Jesus in His glory compels us to leave everything behind and follow Him for the incomparable pleasure of drawing people to His saving power. Through the miraculous catch of fish, Simon Peter was confronted with Christ’s divine majesty, leading him into humble repentance and total, wholehearted surrender. Like those who have encountered the risen Christ, we are likewise called to turn our backs on worldly attachments and instead ultimately embrace the glorious privilege of following Him alone!"For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish that they had taken, and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.”" (Luke 5:9-10)
