Much is written in Scripture about the return of Christ.
The Gospel text for this week addresses the separation of believers and unbelievers - the sheep and the goats.
The sheep are the beloved of God. Their inheritance is the Kingdom of God - heaven.
Their inheritance is a kingdom where they will rule and reign with Christ. It is a kingdom that has been prepared for the sheep since the foundation of the world.
The goats will be placed into the eternal fire of hell. God's Word describes hell as a place of anguish, torment, and punishment. As with heaven, it is everlasting - having no end.
