Emma Mogen has graduated Watford City High School and is on her way to Minot State for college. Her little sister Jessica is just starting her sophomore year in High School. The two discuss living in Watford City through the past decade of boom and bust.

Emma talks about her experiences in Watford City and how the new investments into the community assisted her with her path in life.

Jessica started varsity basketball as a freshman and talks about the leadership qualities that have been honed because of her athletic gifts.

Jessica continues the leadership talk into the Ambassador Program at Watford City. She is planning on joining the program this year and is interested in assisting The Crude Life as an Environmental Energy Ambassador as well.

Kathleen Sgamma, President, Western Energy Alliance, recapped the past week to week and a half of increasingly weird behavior from the White House regarding the oil and gas industry.

Sgamma referred to the weird behavior as another example of the Biden Administration wanting to shut down the American oil and gas industry. Host Jason Spiess opined this weird behavior is another example of State Sponsored Rank Discrimination and Prejudice.

The “weird” behavior is cited as a sitting president asking OPEC to up production when American workers are willing and able to work. The other “weird” behavior is the ignoring of legal deadlines that exist in courts of law.

Sgamma recently wrote an editorial which was first published in the Denver Post.

Western Energy Alliance today denounced the Department of the Interior’s failure to meet the deadline to hold any onshore oil and natural gas lease sales in fiscal year 2021 and the agency’s continued failure to comply with the Louisiana district court order overturning the leasing ban. Yesterday marked the 45-day deadline for the agency to announce a lease sale before the end of the quarter as required by the Mineral Leasing Act, and hence, to hold any lease sales before the end of the fiscal year which ends September 30th. It also marked 60 days since Judge Terry Doughty in the Western District of Louisiana issued a preliminary injunction overturning the leasing ban.

“For six months, the Interior Department cited the Biden Ban as the reason for not holding quarterly lease sales. In the two months since the ban was overturned by a federal judge, department officials have ducked questions from lawmakers, media, and industry about when lease sales would resume. Now that the Interior Department has missed the deadline to hold any sales before October, it’s crystal clear there is no intention of complying with the judge’s order,” said Kathleen Sgamma, president of the Alliance. “At a recent Senate hearing, Interior Sec. Haaland admitted the president’s ‘ban on new leasing is still in place.’ Meanwhile, the Biden Administration has spent the summer lobbying OPEC and Russia to increase oil production. At the same time it’s encouraging foreign oil production, the Biden Administration is preventing American production and helping drive up the price Americans pay at the pump.

“Further, the Interior Department still hasn’t released the plan for conducting the ‘comprehensive review’ of the entire federal oil and natural gas program as ordered by the president. That means the last six months of the leasing ban were completely futile, as no progress has been made on the analysis that was the ostensible reason for the ban in the first place. It’s been an exercise in futility and now we have record high imports from Russia.

“We call on the administration to declare a truce with American producers and promise to back off plans to regulate us off federal lands and out of business. It’s time to announce new lease sales onshore, move forward with the offshore leasing plan, reissue the permit for KeystoneXL, and scuttle plans to move forward aggressively with myriad new regulations meant to reduce American production. Send a clear message to Wall Street that the Securities and Exchange Commission will not pursue regulations to deny the industry access to capital so that investors have more certainty about investing in American production. When the rubber meets the road, high energy prices trump unrealistic climate change policies. Don’t advantage Russian and Saudi above American producers,” added Sgamma.

Derrick Clark and Mike Fisher talk about the Permian Basin Association of Pipeliners Team Roping event September 25 and 26 at the Midland County Horseshoe Arena in Midland, Texas.

Fisher, who has an extensive background in roping, describes what it is and how team roping works. He continues explaining different areas the activity or sport is in mainstream culture through professional events to high school clubs.

Clark gives an overview of the Permian Basin Association of Pipeliners and how the money is being used for scholarships and youth empowerment.

Host Jason Spiess also inquires about the groupings of numbers and symbols like “#13.5”.

The mission of the Permian Basin Association of Pipeliners is to advance pipeline engineering, operations, safety practices and education for the mutual benefit of the members and the industry.

The primary purpose of the Permian Basin Association of Pipliners (PBAP) is to provide an opportunity for “peer-to-peer”​ networking for men and women involved in the pipeline and related industries. Monthly meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at the Hilton Garden Inn in Midland. Meetings include a time of networking, a buffet, and a speaker. Topics range from safety and technical issues important to the industry, governmental affairs affecting the industry, and academia’s efforts to prepare and influence the next generation toward a career in the oil and gas industry.

HOUR ONE PLAY HARD: Jason Spiess and Sterling discuss the recent history of the Reverse Engineering Economy and give a Planet Service Announcement that the reverse engineers are in full force right now.

Jason cites Vanilla Ice’s reverse engineering Queen’s hit “Under Pressure” and how Xerox actually invented the computer we use today. The graphic user interface and the mouse were inventions of Xerox, but the leadership at the time could not see the potential of the personal computer or graphics and passed.

Then the leadership gave Apple and Microsoft access to the mouse and the both reverse engineered the graphic interface to their customization. Jason mentions how many of the networking events and Zoom “pick your brain calls” are filled with reverse engineers right now.

Sterling recalls a bit of his corporate experience and the advice he was once given to just say no to all new ideas. The safe thing is to say no and not have any change. Jason points out those are the people being asked for change right now and are not used to the responsibility and are in a calm panic mode as layoffs and expiring PPP monies become more real in the marketplace and home.

Sterling also talks about how companies like DARPA used to create new technologies and hand them over the marketplace to create a “pull yourself up by the bootstrap” marketplace. Now however, in the new marketplace, there seems to be a new group of subsidized businesses who do not have to hand over their innovations or intellectual property to the marketplace. They get to keep the tax payers money and their results too.

Jason parallels California’s economy to where the world is taken our species and society. In 1992 California passed laws requiring 2% of vehicles become EV and 10% by 1998. Not only did the subsidized and regulated marketplace not happen, but hybrid markets were showing signs of acceptance by the people.

The conversation continues as they describe the Small Business Squeeze that is happening either by design or accident, either way it is happening and the government is spearheading the results.

The two also talk about how corporation use Analytics in Employment, supply chain issues, the Greater Good, how leadership is investing in the system over people and football is back.

In fact, there is a college or pro football game on every week now until the SuperBowl.
