On the line today we have Lazarus Vekiarides from Cloud-based storage startup ClearSky Data. Clearsky has an interesting approach to replacing traditional storage arrays. ClearSky hopes to convince enterprise customers to display their traditional Tier-1 storage arrays with a hosted solution.  In discussing the solution with Laz, some interesting multi-data center use cases are uncovered.

I've seen the befuddlement of why someone would run containers within a VM. I've often wondered why you wouldn't run containers in a VM. I know why Facebook and Google wouldn't run containers in a VM but those reasons to normally apply to the enterprise.

What the heck is a Kubernetes, what does it have to with containers and DevOps. Hopefully, I'll save you some reading and get you up to speed in the podcast.

Intel bought a group of influencers to their campus to talk many things Intel Cloud. As a capstone they took us on a visit of the OHSU Research Campus. OHSU specializes in Cancer Research. I hosted a Periscope and talked about the lessons learnt of managing big data associated with Cancer Research.
