Between attending Chattanooga's Hip Hop Summit last week and traveling through the southeast for a civil rights tour, I feel so intimately aware, proud of, and connected to black history as well as my own blackness. This episode we explore some of my favorite texts and their writers as well as discuss some of the artists I saw during the spoken word event. Naturally, we read some poems of my own and I invite you all to tap into and explore your most salient identities and what is most important to you. Grab a pen and let's get to it.

It's a rainy Sunday morning and I am coming off the heels of a beautiful two-day wedding celebration. I'm in the mood to talk about love (in all its forms), love poems and their writers, and of course write a little of my own in the process. If you're in the mood to simp about love alongside me, grab a pen, a cup of coffee/tea and let's get to it.

My day today got me a little scrambled, from overanalyzing interactions and stressin' work projects to diving deep into old and unprocessed emotions of the past. We use this mood today to create some, what I like to call, hot coal poetry--heated words from the fire of the past. With some casual chatting and a little discussion of my fav poets (Rupi Kaur + Nayyirah Waheed {NI-EAR-RAH WAH-HEED}) we dive in and make some art from the fire.
