Why would God promise to deliver the children of Israel from being slaves after they were already set free from their oppression in Egypt? Because even though they weren't slaves anymore, they still thought and acted like slaves. The same is true for us today. We can be free spiritually, committed to following Yeshua and living for God, and yet still act like slaves to old habits and sinful behaviors.
