29:26 Interior Design Advice
Lorraine owns Willow & Maine, a North East-based interior design and styling consultancy covering Newcastle, Northumberland, County Durham, Teesside, and Tyne and Wear. They offer bespoke interior design and styling solutions for every size of project, with packages to suit all budgets.
Born out of a long-standing passion for all things Interior Design, they are now based in Axwell Park, Blaydon but started in Ryton, a village on the border of Newcastle and Northumberland. The name is a combination of ‘the Willows’, a nature reserve in Lorraine’s village on the banks of the River Tyne, and ’Maine’ was chosen to reflect the classic New England decor she loves so much.
She’s even curated a new online Lifestyle store, bringing together some of her favourite products to share with you. It’s an extension of Lorraine’s interior design passion, offering a range of curated accessories and finishing touches for your home. Think candles, cushions and lots more.
Lorraine has managed projects from Wynyard up to Bamburgh and everywhere in between, including an Airbnb in Alnmouth, a cricketer’s Grade 2 listed cottage, a new build at Wynyard and a Lodge outside of Hexham which was completed for Jessica’s Sarcoma awareness.
Every project Lorraine works on is different, and she gets as excited about the project as the client does. She loves bringing clients' ideas to life and turning houses into homes.

Kerry Dick is the founder of Write Junction - a freelance copywriter for brands with a visual soul. Lots of copywriters often come from journalism or English language backgrounds. They understand words in text. Kerry thinks in colour, space, texture, mood, and visual narrative. Perhaps that's rare, but with her background, it comes from her creative heartbeat. With a BA (hons) degree in textiles & surface design, and her retail background this brings even more to her copywriting skills.
In her retail Visual Merchandiser days, she sold things without saying a word. Making connections and communications from visual, verbal and written formats is a passion of hers. She still helps make those all-important connections, focussing on written content.
There's something super special when she gets to work with brands with the following industries:
- fashion & lifestyle brands
- interiors, homeware & craft
- beauty and wellness
-luxury goods
- retail & e-commerce
- brand identity & tone of voice development work.
She'll write about (almost) anything but she loves her creative heartbeat.

Meet Christina Lord, founder of Authentic Action Coaching. At her core, Christina is deeply passionate about helping women reconnect with who they truly are.
Her favourite question to ask is: “Who were you before the world told you who to be?”
After years spent navigating fast-paced corporate environments, recovering from her own burnout, Christina realised she needed something entirely different. She retrained in Energy Leadership Coaching while living in Arkansas, USA, before returning home to Sunderland to care for her Dad - a chapter of her life that deeply grounded her and redefined what truly matters.
Today, through her F.U.E.L Yourself 1st model, Christina helps women move away from chasing goals that aren't theirs and discover their own formula for pure personal fulfillment. She blends growth mindset principles with embodied resilience practices like breathwork to help people regulate their nervous systems and master stress - so they can create a true sense of peace and feel genuinely at home within themselves.

Leann is an interior designer who believes that great design isn’t just about how a space looks, it’s about how it supports the way you live every day. She works with clients to create homes that feel intentional, functional, and deeply personal, whether that means rethinking a layout, refining finishes, or bringing clarity to a renovation that feels overwhelming.
Her approach is collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded in the idea that our environments shape our habits, our energy, and ultimately our quality of life.

The Curated Nest is very happy to participate in this 4th edition of Podcasthon! For one week, thousands of podcasts will highlight a charity of their choice. And today, I have the pleasure of supporting Prostate Cancer UK.
This episode is a personal one as I welcome along a man who has played a big role in my life. He’s been in my life for around 25 years and has inspired and motivated me and occasionally told me off. He’s picked daffodils for a class project at 10pm, run a farm for his whole adult life and created a YouTube channel for his passion project, Military Mad - sharing his extensive collection of militaria with the online world.
This week I welcome my step dad Richard as we talk about home in the context of the challenges of battling prostate cancer and the highs and lows that come with that.
And that wraps up this special episode, as part of Podcasthon. If you enjoyed it, feel free to visit www.podcasthon.org to discover many other charities through the voices and talents of amazing podcasters!

Dee is a stay-at-home mum to three boys and lives in North Wales in a 1950s art deco-inspired home with stunning coastal views. She has a degree in Business Management and spent 22 years working in administration, office management and finance in the private sector and in social services and education and latterly in an online battery business owned by herself and her husband.
Interior design and decorating have always been her passion. She’s spent many enjoyable years personalising every home she’s lived in. Her current home, which they moved into in 2016, has been a work in progress ever since. The previous owner remodelled and extended it in 2009, leaving a quirky mix of old and new. It was the perfect blank canvas for her to create my own style.
After selling her business in 2025, she completely gave up her office job and now has more time for her hobbies and passions. Interior design remains a favourite, and she’s recently taken up gardening, particularly growing my own vegetables. Walking is another joy, especially in the beautiful North Wales.

Kim is the founder of Nest and Flourish Interiors, a Yorkshire-based design studio specialising in inclusive, accessible environments that enhance wellbeing, dignity, and independence. After a 20-year career in nursing, 15 of those as a community nurse, she saw first-hand how thoughtfully designed spaces can transform physical and mental health. This insight led her to retrain at the National Design Academy and bring a clinically informed perspective to interior design.
Today, Kim works with clients across Yorkshire and Greater Manchester to create homes, workplaces, and community settings that support people of all ages, abilities, and neurodiverse needs. Blending healthcare expertise with creative design, she crafts spaces that are not only beautiful but deeply functional, personalised, and empowering. Through Nest and Flourish Interiors, Kim is redefining what inclusive design can look and feel like - proving that purposeful spaces can be stylish, supportive, and truly for everyone.
