At this point it is important that we also remind ourselves that whenever God speaks to us through a Prophetic or Proceeding Word, it CANNOT be in CONTRADICTION to our “RODS” in fact it can only be carried out within the Framework of our “RODS” it is always within our ability to carry it out. 

Problems come when we do not Know what our Rod is therefore we end up thinking what God says is impossible or at other times we attempt to function from another person’s “ROD” ending up in failure.

This is part that is fully dependent on us to develop as we grow in knowledge of who we are. 

This is where we PUT TO PRACTICE what we KNOW, this is where the IMPACT of WHY we have our “ROD” is both SEEN & FELT.

Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand (yatsab {yaw-tsab'}  Meaning:  1) to place, set, stand, set or stationed) before kings;(Rulers)  he will not stand before obscure (insignificant) men.

The combination of the 3 components that make up your “ROD” are lethal to kingdom of darkness. 

Talent: Innate, Inborn 

Knowledge: Intellectual and Mental 

Skills: Physical & Practical

Christian”—few words in the English language carry as much baggage as this one. It’s a loaded label, to be sure, but what’s interesting is that Jesus never actually gave a name to His followers. The early Church never called themselves Christians. In the Bible, the title most often used was “saints.” the name “Christian” was given somewhat  derogatively by these powers-that-be—a sort of dismissive wave of the hand to those “little Christs.” Technically, the ending “-ian” means “belonging to the party of,” so “Christians” meant those of Jesus’ party. the word “Christians” is also used in Acts 26:28 (by Agrippa, an unbelieving King that applied the name he knew as an outsider)

We continue our discussion on SIGNPOSTS TO UNLOCKING YOUR ROD and we need to remember some very crucial statements from the last discussion,  

1. Remember what you loved as a child. 

2. Ask your friends and Family what your good at. 

3. Find what makes you feel strong. 

4. Find what you spend the most money on.  

Today we continue with more of those signposts.

In this FIREPLACE CONVERSATION we continue to discuss the major points that were highlighted and answering questions that arose in the conversation in the previous recording.

Most people have no real clue what talents are, let alone what their talents are.  

They think that with enough practice almost everything is learnable. 

They don't actively seek knowledge and skills to enhance their talents.  Rather, they fall into the trap of trying to acquire as much knowledge and as many skills as they are able in the hope of bettering themselves in some general way.  

To build your strengths you must avoid this trap.  

Don't sign up blindly those well-meaning but misguided classes for leadership, public speaking, listening or empathy skills training or any other training and expect any dramatic improvement. 

Unless you have the necessary talent, your improvements will be minimal.  

You will be diverting most of your energy toward damage control and very little toward real development.  

Identify your dominant talents and then in a focused way acquire the knowledge and skills to fully unpack and activate your rod.

In this FIREPLACE CONVERSATION we continue to discuss unpacking our rods, answering questions that arose in the conversation in the previous recording.

As we begin the process of unpacking our rods, it is important that we became aware of the fact that most of our lives we have been trained to work on our weaknesses instead of on improving our strengths. 

Teachers advise our parents that we should ignore the areas in which we are “OK” and get tutors for the areas of weakness. 

Thus we develop a mindset of focusing on our weaknesses instead of our strength either by trying to improve them or by hiding them. 

Truth be told, many so called areas of our weakness are someone else’s rod!
