Parker Edison is a rap historian, cinemafile and a member of the award-winning rap group Parker Meridien. In this episode, he talks about San Diego's place in rap history, its influence on rap and how rap has evolved over time on the West Coast.

Bad Bunny has been in the headlines increasingly more as a Super Bowl halftime headliner, an activist, an actor, a wrestler and, of course, a six-time grammy winning artist with dozens of platinum certifications. Quantifying the impact of Bad Bunny has been difficult, but Dr. Nathian Rodriguez has been teaching a Bad Bunny course at SDSU to help students better understand the dazzling Puerto Rican rapper/singer.

Jackie Bryant, a local legend of San Diego journalism, talks about her and her and her husband's ushering of a change at the Daily Aztec. Bryant is teaching a new class focusing on creating content for the student publication. She offers insight into the state of journalism and discusses how her upbringing in the field fuels her teaching.

Earlier this month, Daily Aztec contributor Connor Larson produced a story that garnered a lot of attention. The story was about the low attendance at Snapdragon Stadium for SDSU football games. Larson talks about his experience after the story gained a large viewership, discusses the making of it all and talks about what didn't make the cut.

Anna Culbertson, the director of the collections office here at SDSU, talks about the history behind one of SDSU's oldest and rarest books, the Malleus Maleficarum, a 4th edition book in its original Latin form detailing the behavior of and proper punishments for witches. Culbertson details the controversy behind both the book and the book's author and its historic parallels to modern day.
