Even as Christians, we may face from time to time hardship, fear, and anxiety. In God’s Word, it says in Psalm 91:1, “The one who lives under the protection of the Most-High dwells in the shadow of the Almighty.” If a person is truly a follower of Jesus Christ, he or she lives in the shadow and under the protection of God, our Father who is in Heaven.

My Refuge and My Fortress

As I was reading and studying the Word of God this morning, Psalm 103 ministered to my heart. I will share a few thoughts that have stood out to me. But first, please join me in reading Psalm 103 (English Standard Version).

This story is a true story and is about my friend's conversion to Jesus.

I few years ago, I met a man who had everything. He had the best in his mode of living, was dressed in designer clothing, and drove a very nice car. He was married to a beautiful wife and they have beautiful children who have the very best of everything. Yet, they are all so miserable in their life. Because they have the best of everything, their children are rebellious. His wife who lacks for nothing was not satisfied with her circumstance and was constantly looking for more. And the man was very depressed because he felt that he had worked so hard and yet he could not seem to find what he is looking for? Unfortunately, his marriage was starting to fail. His children were angry and he did not know what to do and where to turn? He was like the fool that Jesus spoke about in Luke 12:13-21.

Have you ever been unfriended because of your stance for Christ Jesus? Well this recently happened to me on social media. Taking a stand for Jesus is not popular in this sin filled world, but we must persevere until He comes again!

As the Roman Centurion looked upon Him, a great earthquake occurred and the Temple Veil was torn into. The Centurion said, “Surely, this truly was the son of God!” Then I realized that the Centurion was me in my dream and I awoke thinking that I am unworthy to even carry Jesus’s sandals because I am guilty. He took my blame and my sin and yet I had been forgiven by His mercy and grace. I stand looking up at that cross weeping for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He took my place on that cross. It should have been me.

So who will vouch for you at God’s Judgment Seat? Will God say, “Well done my faithful servant!” or will He say “I will cast you into the lake of fire because I never knew you?”
