The Daily Breadcast

You are your biggest enemy! How can we overcome self? What is our standard of life, that we live for or seek to achieve?

1) Blame - who's at fault when you're life is a mess?

2) Check your ego - what can I do to take accountability?

3) Walk in the Spirit - am I demonstrating the fruit of the Holy Spirit in my life?

No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.  Proverbs 16:18

Why is it so easy to admire longsuffering and patience in others, but refuse to exhibit it within ourselves?  Patience is like protection against wrongs like clothes do for the cold.  So just like when it’s cold you bundle up by putting on more layers, you have to gird yourself up and continuously layer yourself with patience.

Romans 12:12 - Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

God calls us to be his workmanship, to demonstrate virtues that are pleasing to him. It is impossible to be virtuous without contentment.

Proverbs 18:24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly

How do you Express Love?

Discipline & Correction (Hebrews 12:6)

Showing kindness (1 Corinthians 13:4)

Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

After all, He was surrounded by disciples who constantly doubted him, Pharisees and Sadducees who continually attacked Him, and large crowds who wouldn’t leave Him alone. Despite all of that, He kept His composure and responded appropriately to every individual.
