April 26, 2021Role of safe houses during the struggle daysTomorrow being a very historically significant day in South Africa, Prof Chitja Twala from the University of the Free State wrote an opinion piece about the role played by safe house during the hard days of apartheid. These are the houses where wanted comrades would hide while conducting operations from their mother bodies. Sadly some of the safe houses beyond our borders that housed freedom fighters were attacked by the then SANDF.
