The National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NRCS) has recalled tinned pilchard products sold by retailers countrywide, that’s because the product was “compromised’ on the production line when the sauce was added to the fish in the can, and “therefore could affect the safety of consumers”, the NRCS said. Now we turn the attention to the consumer to look at what are our rights? Expired food in shops, do the health inspectors check the dates? Is it our duty as consumers to check the dates and do what if you find that something has expired? If you happen to have consumed the recalled tinned fish, can you take legal action?
