Focus: About two weeks ago, the Freedom Front Plus approached the UN and urged them to look into what they term “the deliberate actions taken by the South African government to dilute and eventually eradicate Afrikaans-language mother-tongue education for Afrikaans speakers in South Africa since 1994”. It didn’t end there - they also implored the UN General Secretary to initiate a full investigation, in order to pressurize the SA government to afford equal educational opportunities for all its peoples in their mother tongue. This morning we are joined by Andre Fourie who made these submissions to the UN HRC Forum on Minority Issues and he will give us clarity on numerous other issues they raised.

UNISA’s institute for Dispute Resolution in Africa recently held a two day conference – San Dispute Resolution Conference -premised on the idea that indigenous knowledge systems can be creatively and innovatively applied to current modern conflicts and challenges; devising African solutions for African problems especially at a local communal level.
