Jesus is going to heal a man with leprosy. Leprosy at the time was a social death sentence and was a terrible disease that was considered incurable and a form of punishment by God. Jesus has divine authority as the Son of God that is why He is able to speak and in this instance heal a man of demonic possession. The evil spirit recognizes this authority of Christ, "have you come to destroy us holy one of God"? This is the second miracle in the town of Cana. Jesus is going to heal a man's son who is severely ill from a distance. Notice how Jesus challenges the crowd with the words unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe. The question we need ask ourselves is how strong is our faith?
