Suddenly, in 2025, the Left has backed corporate-led free trade, suggesting yet again that they have no principles whatsoever. President Trump has used the threats of tariffs on foreign goods to regain some initiative in the international arena. Is the US in a position to challenge anyone? What's the difference between the US and the Regime? Do these tariffs solve the problem of free trade or are these a different set of policies entirely? Can the US benefit from protectionist policies as a third world country might? Do theories of free trade or import substitution even apply to a Postmodern oligarchy?
