  • True Joy... The default setting for Christians!

Today on the Daily Nugget, Mike continues our study through the book of Galatians by exploring the second fruit of the Spirit: joy. Biblical joy is far deeper than happiness—it is the delightful appreciation of God, His character, and His work in our lives. While our circumstances constantly change, God never does. As we grow in our understanding of who He is and recognize His faithful work in us, our hearts learn to delight in Him regardless of what we face. True joy isn't found in having a trouble-free life, but in knowing and enjoying the God who is always good. Join us as we discover how the Holy Spirit produces lasting joy in those who abide in Christ.

  • Love... The first fruit

Today on the Daily Nugget, as we continue our study through the book of Galatians, we begin looking at the fruit of the Spirit with the first fruit: love (Galatians 5:22). Love is far more than a feeling. God's love welcomes us into His family, comforts us in our deepest pain, delights in us as His beloved children, generously gives for our good, delivers us from darkness into new life, and transforms us into people who love others the way He has loved us. The fruit of the Spirit doesn't begin with trying harder—it begins with abiding in the God who is love. As we experience His love more deeply, His love naturally overflows through us to a world desperate to know Him.

  • What destroys your fruit...

Today on this Freebie Friday edition of the Daily Nugget, Mike reflects on three things that can keep us from bearing the fruit God desires in our lives. First, our sinful nature produces rotten fruit through open rebellion against God. Second, our self-righteous flesh can produce plastic fruit—an outward appearance of godliness that is disconnected from a genuine relationship with Christ. Finally, the enemy works to deceive and distract us, keeping us from abiding in the true Source of life. Real spiritual fruit isn't produced by trying harder; it grows naturally as we remain connected to Jesus and walk in the power of His Spirit.

  • Perhaps the most important verse in the Bible you don't know!

Today on the Daily Nugget, Mike explores Galatians 5:16–18, where Paul uses the power of contrast to reveal the true nature of the Christian life. The contrast is not simply between good behavior and bad behavior, but between living by the Spirit and living under the law. The sinful nature is not only the part of us that openly rebels against God's commands—it is also the part that tries to keep God's law for the wrong reasons, relying on self rather than on a relationship with Him. Verse 18 is the key: "But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law." As we walk with Christ and depend on His Spirit, we are set free from both rebellion and self-righteousness to live the joyful, abundant life God intended.

  • Love over Law!

Today on the Daily Nugget, Mike reflects on Galatians 5:13–15, where Paul reminds us that Christian freedom is not a license to serve ourselves but an opportunity to serve one another in love. The gospel frees us from the power of sin so that we can love as Christ has loved us. While the flesh produces selfishness, conflict, and division, God's love brings unity, peace, and healthy relationships. As we walk with Christ, His love flows into us and overflows to those around us, building up the body of Christ instead of tearing it down.

  • Running the good race... may not be what you think...

Today on the Daily Nugget, Mike reflects on Galatians 5:7–12, where Paul reminds us that the Christian life is a race worth running—but only when it is centered on the gospel and a growing relationship with Jesus Christ rather than ourselves or a relationship with the law. Anything that shifts our focus from Christ to our own performance hinders our spiritual progress, but the gospel keeps us grounded in God's grace, empowers us to walk in freedom, and enables us to persevere with joy as we keep our eyes fixed on the One who has already won the victory for us.

  • Happy 4th!

Today on the Daily Nugget, Mike reflects on Independence Day by considering both our nation's history and the greater freedom found in Christ. America's founding was profoundly shaped by biblical ideas about human dignity, liberty, and moral responsibility, and many of the nation's early leaders recognized that a free society depends upon virtue and faith. Yet as we celebrate our nation's independence, we are reminded of an even greater freedom. Through Jesus Christ, we have been redeemed from the bondage of sin and the tyranny of Satan and transferred into the glorious kingdom of God. True freedom is not merely political—it is spiritual. Join us as we celebrate the One who purchased our freedom and made us children of His everlasting kingdom.

  • Where does your confidence come from??

Today on the Daily Nugget, Mike explores Galatians 5:2–6 and reminds us that Christ is the foundation of the Christian life. Our relationship with God is built on Jesus, not on our ability to keep the law or earn His favor through religious performance. Paul warns that whenever we place our confidence in law-keeping, we lose sight of the sufficiency of Christ and the freedom He has secured for us. Instead, we are called to live by faith, trusting in His finished work and allowing that faith to express itself through love. Join us as we discover the joy and freedom that come from making Christ—not the law—the foundation of our lives.

When we embrace the freedom Christ has purchased for us, we experience the joy, peace, and assurance that come from knowing we are fully accepted by God through faith. Join us as we discover why standing firm in the gospel is essential to living the abundant life Christ came to give.

  • Eye Gouging Joy

Today on the Daily Nugget, Mike explores Galatians 4:12–20 and reflects on the joyful generosity that flows from the true gospel. Paul reminds the Galatians of the deep love, affection, and sacrificial care they once shared before false teaching began to distort their view of God's grace. When we lose sight of the gospel, joy gives way to obligation, and generosity is often replaced by criticism, comparison, and self-focus. But when our hearts are captivated by God's grace, love overflows naturally into our relationships and service to others. Join us as we discover how remaining rooted in the gospel transforms not only our relationship with God but also the way we love and care for one another.
