Cocktail Note from Eric Felten
The Thanksgiving cocktail discussed in the podcast is called a "Bella Ruffina" and was created by bartender Scott Beattie. It uses a chilled fizzy sweet red Italian wine called Brachetto d'Acqui, and red vermouth (preferably a bitter-sweet vermouth such as Carpano Punt-e-Mes. Here's the recipe:
4 oz Brachetto d'Acqui (chilled)
1 oz sweet (red) vermouth
1 dash
Combine in a champagne glass, give the briefest of stirs and enjoy while the bird is in the oven. Happy Thanksgiving!
