Because Moshe & Aaron hit the rock without consulting G-d they lost their privilege of entering the land of Israel. We learn form here how careful we need to be with our actions.

Even if you don’t have all the qualities to help someone it’s still important you try and help them to the best of your ability. When Miriam passed away, Moshe took on her role and brought her merits back to this earth and the Jewish people were able to have water in the desert again.

Today’s portion speaks about the ego and the soul. If we function from a place of ego our own lives can get blocked from our self-centered interests. If we get in touch with the Divine part of ourselves we reach a state a flow & bliss.

This portion we learn the Torah verse that teaches us the concept of Ma’aser which we pratice until today. Every sum of money we receive from any job done we must give a 10th directly to Charity.

We learn from the distinction of the Levites and priests and the rest of the Jewish people that we all have the ability to reach the level of a Priests who is so closely connected to G-d. We must look beyond our labels we create for ourselves and get in touch with who we are, children of G-d. We may then have the ability to reach heights we would have never imagined.

This portion talks about the need for speed we should all have in our Avodah (daily service). Just as the priests served G-d with Speed, so should we. We learn this from the verse of Aaron’s staff that grew Almonds overnight.

When the incense (korban) was offered out of selfishness, it proved fatal. The antidote to this misguided deadly drive is to involve ourselves in things that bring life: Torah.

In today’s study we learn from Moses that we should not see people for their sins rather for who they are at their core for every person holds a piece of Godliness within.
