Luke 4 tells of Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness, the beginning of His ministry, His rejection at Nazareth, and His authority over an unclean spirit. Jesus heals at Peter’s house and continues preaching throughout Judea, proclaiming the good news of God’s kingdom.

Luke 3 introduces the mission of John the Baptist, who calls people to repentance and prepares the way for Jesus. We also hear about the baptism of Jesus and the genealogy that traces His earthly lineage.
