SMELL:

The ability to detect odors, using our noses to sense airborne chemicals or other odors.

In the Word of God, the sense of smell is used, both literal and figurative, to convey important religious and spiritual ideas.

A sweet-smelling savor refers to a pleasing aroma of a burnt offering or incense in the Old Testament; in the New Testament, it's used to describe the positive influence and impact believers have on the people they come in contact with, both the saved and the unsaved.

HEARING

Hearing is the ability to perceive sound, using our ears to detect vibrations in the air.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

We must careful of what we hear and careful of how we hear, as worldly influences can negatively impact our faith and behavior.

Sight

God has given us eyes to experience and appreciate the beauty of His creation and to see beyond the physical world into spiritual truths.

Our eyes allow us to see depth and judge distances, which are essential for navigating our environment. The Bible uses figurative "eyes" to describe spiritual understanding, teaching us the importance of having "eyes of the heart" that are open to see God's glory and His guidance.

2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.
