It was inevitable. The clash of a CEO style Head Coach with an Offensive Coordinator with a defined system was bound to lead to disaster if one or both was unwilling to compromise. As one of the few people excited about the hiring of Phil Longo I'm particularly disappointed especially since I know how well the offensive philosophy could meld with Wisconsin ideals, but alas it was not meant to be. As the 2024 season approaches it's time for a season preview. But instead of taking the much taken path of depth charts and camp battles we are going to take a look at the team from a coach's point of view. Be a fly on the wall in the room as we preview the team how a position coach would by building their fundamentals, improving their execution, and finding ways to use the new found skills to our tactical advantage.

As a football coach what do I think of "analytics". The simplicity of taking football and distilling it down to a set of numbers that are easily comparable is in and of itself a positive thing that has brought more fans to the "nerdy" side of football. On the flipside it has taken a bit of the humanity out of the game and at the same time we have lost the ability to find our own opinion or make decisions for ourselves.
