Yovy Daniels, Panamanian West Indian Afro-descendant. Professionally she's known as a former TV corporate broadcast media planner who worked in the U.S. Spanish-speaking/LATAM division for networks like Fox, Sony, RCNTV, and Univision. She continues to propel her innovative skills from broadcaster to podcaster with new ventures into public speaking and blogging.

Yovy is on a mission to educate the public about what it means to be Afro-Latina and teach the Afro-Latina diaspora. Yovy is also the host of the Yovy D and Chombita Chronicles podcasts where she discusses challenges in the workforce for Afro-Latinas and learning to embrace their roots.

While bullying will always exist, it can be drastically reduced if only societies, communities, institutions, and organizations made a committed effort to create an anti-bullying culture. 

This is not an easy task, since it requires groups of people to work together, but movements have been created that have changed our way of life.

So, it is doable!

Here are three main factors that I believe can successfully create an anti-bullying culture to improve quality of life for everyone, not just our youth. 

Remember that change can happen and it only takes one person to take the initiative to start that change. 

Creating safe spaces allows children to feel comfortable and secure, knowing that their emotions are valid and respected. 

It helps them develop trust and build meaningful connections with adults and peers. When children feel safe, they're more likely to take risks in expressing themselves and engage in healthy emotional exploration.

Dr. Katie Raher is an expert in this enabling children to live out their lives, one feeling at a time and in this episode she shared how she has been able to do so through Kimochis and Social Emotional Learning.
