Luke
17:1 NIV Jesus
said to his disciples: “Things that cause people to stumble are bound to
come, but woe to anyone through whom they come.
Jesus
is clear and we already know that offenses come as you live among other people.
Even in our families, we get offended. In this scripture the offenses are the
“things that cause people to stumble.” Jesus doesn’t mess around or
apologize when He points out that we can easily become offenders when we are
offended. And that word “woe” is a warning from Him that He doesn’t
take that lightly and we are accountable to Him to not be the one who offends.
Since
offenses come to all of us, this is a very relevant teaching from the word, and
should ministry to some of the pain and hurt that many of you may still have
remaining in your hearts. If it continues to remain, it will damage your
health, your attitudes, and your relationships. If it is healed, it will set
you free.
