How do we use Ho’oponopono to heal our body?
Ho’oponopono is an ancient Hawaiian healing technique that focuses the energies of forgiveness, love and gratitude into those areas of our being where we are holding on to memories that are no longer serving us. It is a technique that is so simple, yet so powerful. All that is required is the sounding of the Ho’oponopono mantra with an intention to create change in our lives.
We begin by saying, “I’m sorry” within that
part of the body that is currently experiencing pain and/or illness. Knowing
that deep within that pain there is most likely an emotion that has been
supressed by you. An emotion that was borne out of a memory from an experience
from the past. Possibly so long ago that you have forgotten all about it. As we
say the words “I’m sorry”, we are saying sorry to ourselves for holding onto
the emotions that have tainted our memories and our beliefs about ourselves.
There is no judgment here, but a depth of complete love and compassion for
self. We apply all of our intention to heal towards the power of the sounding
of the words, “I’m sorry”.
Next we say, “Please forgive me.” This is
where we recognise the true power of self-forgiveness is within ourselves. Our
forgiveness is directed towards ourselves. As long as we are holding on to
judgment and criticism we are keeping ourselves imprisoned within the old
memories. In saying, “Please forgive me” with heartfelt earnestness, we are
choosing to set ourselves free from the bondages of our own beliefs and
Then the words, “I love you.” Sounding these
words into and through those parts of the body that have been suffering.
Recognising that it is the energy of Love that penetrates deep within the cause
of our suffering and liberates the true nature of all that we are. We bring all
of our heart to the sounding of these words, “I love you.”
And then we complete with gratitude by saying, “Thank you.” We express gratitude for every
part of our being, gratitude for all that we are and all that we are a part of.
Gratitude is an energy that makes us not only feel good but has been proven to
We say these four lines over and over, allowing the
energies of the Ho’oponopono to wash over us and through us, cleansing and
purifying all of those memories that have been impacting us in a negative way.
