A chance meeting while dumping leaves made me suddenly realize it had never remotely occurred to me to re-use leaf bags... what does that say about my thinking in our disposable society?

Do you struggle with accepting compliments? I find it hard and tend to dismiss or diminish what it is I am being praised for... but in so doing I have come to realize I am also dismissing and diminishing the person giving the compliment. This is something I've been working on...

This morning I was reminded of the awesome power of the Internet to enable us to see and experience events from far away. For a few moments I watched the Russian Progress 57 spacecraft dock with the International Space Station... all live and in HD video... and all from the comfort of my home...

We had an awesome day at the Keene Pumpkin Festival this past Saturday, October 18, 2014. It was an amazing, wonderful event... but you wouldn't know that from the media coverage that focused on the rioting of a large mass of college students and other young people a few streets away from where the Pumpkin Festival was happening.

As many of us play with Ello, the newest social network to attract attention, I take a moment to remember Orkut, the first "social network" many of us used way back in 2004... and that was shut down today, September 30, 2014, by Google...
