Dr. Gina M. Miele is a scholar, ethnographer, and storyteller. She holds a Ph.D. in Romance Languages and Literatures from Harvard University and is a professor of Italian at Montclair State University, where she served as the founding director of the Joseph and Elda Coccia Institute for the Italian Experience in America.

Her work has appeared in Italica, Marvels and Tales, Fabula, Italian Quarterly, the Paterson Literary Review, The Greenwood Encyclopedia of Folktales and Fairy Tales, Teaching Fairy Tales, and Marvelous Transformations: An Anthology of Tales and Contemporary Critical Perspectives.

Born of decades of original research and fieldwork across all twenty Italian regions, Italian Folklore: Rituals, Celebrations, and Ancient Traditions is a beautifully rendered portrait of a living cultural inheritance.
