False idols (or false gods) are worthless and unable to follow through with anything, but they appear to be attractive because they make us feel what WE crave (to be in control).  God understands the problem idolators have and clearly shares the problems with trusting in them through Isaiah's words to Israel.  Our challenge today, as we listen to this Word, is to consider:  Are we in love with our false idol, or our false god, and don’t want to give it up also?
